Learning is fun. This is our mantra at the Ved Gruh Public School. We believe in organizing hands-on activities rather than rote learning because we are staunch advocates of the overall development of kids. Keeping this in mind, we organized a Green Day to celebrate nature around us.
Green, as we know, is the color of nature. Green is the color of life and prosperity. The objective behind observing and celebrating this day was to create awareness about nature in a playful yet engaging way. The color green is associated with many positive things in our life- it is associated with harmony, learning, and growth. We are advised by doctors to increase the intake of green vegetables in our diet for better health. The Green Day was just a symbolic day to observe and celebrate the presence of ‘ green’ in our lives. Going green is always a good thing, and we tried to encourage it through this event.
Since Coronavirus has put a restriction on physical activities and events, our Green Day celebrations were completely online. Students were asked to wear green-colored attire and bring a green-colored object to their e-class. Teachers also participated in this activity with full enthusiasm and wore green-colored clothes. To enliven the event, we had organized a color activity and a short poem-recitation session. The children used this opportunity to learn many new and interesting things, and we hope that they’d inculcate these learnings in their lives.
The online Green Day celebration organized by Ved Gruh Public School was quite a success among both kids and their parents. Even though it was an online affair, we managed to pull it out with the same energy and excitement as we’d have done for an offline event. We hope to have more such events in the future because we believe that such activities are cardinal to a child’s holistic development.
At Ved Gruh, we believe in learning with a difference. We encourage kids to develop their own, independent thought processes and question everything around them. Excelling in academics is important, but it is equally important for a child to develop an analytical mind. We believe in inculcating creative and critical thinking into our students, and this is what makes them stand out from the rest.
